test drive meme iv.

Let's see if this is a better time for it!

test drive meme!

Here's how it works!

wanna play a character but don't have the time? or maybe you just want to test them out?
well go for it! post them here like they're already in the game (text, voice, video or action), and have them talk to characters already in the big gay Garden! Be sure to put their name and fandom in the subject line, for those of us who don't know it.
then app them because you know you want to. 8|

Please spread the word about this meme, and happy Tuesday!

culture clash!!

We do not and I cannot think of one that would be remotely comparable in any way. If it is alright for me to say so, it is actually quite bizarre for me to to imagine a word describing such a mundane preference.

exciting shocking and new things!

Humans like to fit in, so we give ourselves labels to feel like we belong somewhere. It is a bit ridiculous, but we've been doing it for centuries now.

I suppose that is expected from very different species. Do you have words to describe your preferences for particular colors of hair? All Trolls have the identical black hair, so I had found it very interesting to see such a wide variety of colors.

[ This question is asked with complete and genuinely honest curiosity. For her, it is a completely logical jump. ]

We do. [She can hardly imagine an entire race of everyone having the same hair color. To her a master race just seems, well, plain odd.] I'm considered a blonde―but there are also different shades of blonde. Platinum blonde, dirty blonde, golden blonde, strawberry blonde.

Then we have redheads, who have red hair, of course. Brunettes, who have brown hair. And of course, black hair.

That doesn't take in account of people who dye their hair other colors. Some people could be a natural brunette, but dye their hair red. Or a blonde and dye their hair brown. Some people even choose colors like green, blue, or pink too.

I think I may have to specify on what I had originally meant to inquire.

A lesbian is a female specifically romantically attracted to another female, correct? Do you have particular words to describe an individual romantically attracted to specific colors of hair?

[identity profile] aureation.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, hm. [She thinks for a moment. There are probably words out there that describe someone who prefers one hair color over others, but she's certainly never heard of it.] None that I know of. There may be people that prefer one over another, but most people just tend to say "I like blondes" or the like.

This leads me to my next question. Is the difference between being attracted to one gender over the other greater than being attracted to a different superficial quality, such as a particular color of hair or eyes over another color?

[identity profile] aureation.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
You're certainly asking some interesting questions! [She laughs.] Normally yes, but within preferences of gender lies in preferences for a partner. A man may want a partner who is either a man or a woman, rather than just a woman or just a man. Under that preference comes with someone he wants in a partner―maybe he prefers women with blonde hair, or maybe he prefers a man to have brown eyes. Or perhaps he doesn't care about looks at all and he wants someone who has a witty personality or someone who's different than he is.

Human romance is certainly complicated.

[identity profile] aureation.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It certainly is. When you finally meet that person you find yourself enamored with though, everything is seemingly less complicated... well, for the most part.

How does romance work for you?
