[there's what appears to be a very young child tramping through the grass near the edge of the forest, still in her white arrival gown. Except something isn't quite right: first of all, she's wobbling like a baby taking its first steps. Second, her body looks almost like a doll's and not a human's, ball-joints and all. Third, she's muttering to herself with the kind of self-awareness and vocabulary most five-year-olds don't possess. It's a little amusing, in fact, to hear such a small high-pitched voice uttering those words.]

This is--completely preposterous. To take me away from him at such a time and return me to this body--it was destroyed! Who would do such a thing, and for what purpose--

[she stops as a cat approaches, glaring a little as if it's offended her. She ignores the scroll it offers and tries to continue, trying to shoo it away as it comes closer.]

I have no time for the likes of you, begone. [instead of obeying, the cat decides to rub up against her legs, and she falls over with a yelp.]

Desist, you insolent creature!

[Lambda is automatically drawn to the sound of a voice, since she isn't out and about for any particular purpose. With nowhere to be at no scheduled time, she has no reason not to take a detour to investigate. She regards the child in her dress from behind her visor, her sensors making it obvious that she isn't human—or even biological—even before she notices the joints.]

[Otherwise, though, she doesn't quite understand the spectacle before her, and she tilts her head as the child is beset by an overly affectionate cat.]

...Do you require assistance?

[lastalian]

[a human? Perhaps. Something is strange about this one, but it's a good sign she hasn't attacked on sight. In an effort to regain some dignity, Lambda shoves the cat away from her in a surprising display of strength for such a small child. It skitters away, hissing, offended. She watches it go with no remorse.]

I do not.

[she attempts to pick herself up, inwardly cursing the limitations of the humanoid body she was returned to. It had been lost in the shuttle crash a century ago, so why was it intact? Had someone built another one? And why?]

[She had to find Asbel before the Little Queen appeared again. He didn't stand a chance without her, the idiot.]

[she realizes this means she has to revise her previous statement.]

Just what is this place?

[cobbledtogether]

Energy output... Abnormal. Phenomenon unknown... Standing by.

[She neither approaches nor backs away was she stands, drifting to the side slightly as she surveys the newcomer.]

Location: Unknown. It is referred to colloquially as "the Gardens".

[that way of speaking--]

You're a humanoid.

[the joints of her fingers creak slightly as she curls them into s fist, but she doesn't move, otherwise. She's practically powerless like this, she shouldn't present herself as a threat.]

Are there sentient life-forms here?

[cobbledtogether]

...? Yes.

[She tilts her head a little. That much seems obvious to her.]

The estimated population ranges between 50 and 100 individuals.

[at least humanoids had logical programming they obeyed. This one was clearly combat-capable, but it didn't seem to be looking for a fight.]

I see. [her voice goes a little dull.] Are you the only humanoid?

[cobbledtogether]

[tilts...head...]

No. Most observed individuals are humanoid.

[lastalian]

[there's a short silence before she realizes the communication problem.]

By "humanoid", I am referring to the term used to designate artificially created life-forms, rather than a general description of any individual's appearance.

[cobbledtogether]

...I do not know. I have not been able to analyze every individual present.

[She doesn't know Subaru's origins. The other robotic individuals she has known have sense disappeared.]

I see.

[another short silence, then:]

What is your purpose here?

[cobbledtogether]

The commonly accepted purpose of our abduction is the formation of interpersonal relationships amongst residents.

[Probably not exactly the answer she was looking for, but.]

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

The meaning of ridiculous... Deserving or inspiring ridicule; absurd, preposterous, or silly.

[Well, she can't argue with that.]
