test drive meme v.
Time for another one of these, right in time for ATP this Saturday (FINALLY I TIMED THIS RIGHT)!
test drive meme!
Here's how it works!
➊ wanna play a character but don't have the time? or maybe you just want to test them out?
➋ well go for it! post them here like they're already in the game (text, voice, video or action), and have them talk to characters already in the big gay Garden! Be sure to put their name and fandom in the subject line, for those of us who don't know it.
➌ then app them because you know you want to. 8|
Please spread the word about this meme, and happy Wednesday!

Branwen Goldenhour | original character (please excuse my lack of decent icons)
At her side is a very large and somewhat shaggy gray-brown dog. The breed it most closely resembles is an Irish Wolfhound. The woman strokes the dog's head and speaks to it softly as it gazes up at her inquiringly with golden-brown eyes. The dog is an ordinary dog and can understand the tone but not the meaning of her words, but it comforts her to have someone to talk to in these strange surroundings.]
It should be safe, shouldn't it? This place feels like Lighthall.
[Those words are cold comfort, and she frowns. Her instinct to avoid large, natural bodies of water is still strong, and she doesn't move closer yet.]

Um... Excuse me, but... Ah, I know this may be a silly request, but...
May I pet your dog?
no subject
[The dog pants happily as it looks at her, appearing as friendly as she claims. There is something different, if not immediately noticeable. Branwen's been so distracted by her surroundings, she hasn't realized her dog is no longer a male.]

Hello, Gelert-san. -A calm smile.-
My name is Sanae.
no subject
It is a pleasure to meet you, Sanae. My name is Cailin. [She offers the false name not because she truly intends to deceive, but out of habit. She hasn't told anyone her real name in some time, so she's gotten used to her alias. Though she isn't quite sure about this place yet. It's too much like a Solitude Home for her to feel at ease.]
Are you a native of this Garden, or were you brought here, too?
no subject
It's nice to meet you, Cailin-san. And I was brought here as well. Suwako-sama was already here, and I thought she had summoned me, but I was apparently wrong about that.
no subject
Do you know who rules this place? The note said it was a queen, but I'm only familiar with the king. [She's most worried that it has something to do with the Aetherians.]
Summoned you? [She's only familiar with a prosaic kind of summons, such as an aristocrat sending a message for someone to appear in court. Her arrival here wasn't anything like that.] So there was already someone here who you knew? [She wishes she'd find Mora here. Or Ada. Or any familiar face.]

I'm afraid I don't understand. [She smiles politely, however.] What is a goddess?

She considers Sanae's question. Some people do worship certain things, or certain persons, but she doesn't consider that to be beneficial behavior.] No, we do have faith in each other, and in ideals.

I'm not sure what happened to the spirits that people once worshiped. [Branwen isn't sure if they were ever real at all, but she senses now is not the time to say that.] They might still exist. [It is possible.]
I have seen a spirit before, though it wasn't one that wanted worship. Many of the old beliefs were wiped out, but there are probably still people who remember, somewhere. It's impossible to know for sure. [She's not sure how to explain how closed off certain portions of the world are. She's never thought that there could be another world where she'd have to explain it.]

Branwen would love to learn more about gods and how they die if no one believes in them. It sounds fascinating, but she's been raised with enough manners to be able to tell it's a sensitive subject. So she changes it.]
You said you were a-- [What was the term she'd used, again? Oh, yes. She remembers.] --shrine maiden? What does that mean?

By the lake, stands a figure, but upon walking closer, it seems that the woman is from another era. How funny, that she is already used to these kinds of things. ]
And where is Lighthall, exactly?
no subject
Then she relaxes, almost at once. This is a very different place, isn't it? Another world, she's heard. Her dog wags its tail at the stranger, and Branwen politely answers her question.]
Lighthall is--it was where I was born. A Solitude Home north of the capital. It was a closed place, like this seems to be. No way in or out, unless you have the power.
[Lighthall had been a great deal like this. Not just the atmosphere, the feeling in the air, but the fact that it had been a separate little world where only women lived, ruled by a single authority figure. It had seemed safe, and in some ways it had been, compared to the rest of the world. In other, subtler ways, it had been treacherous.]
