[The girl on the other end of the vine draws her stockinged knees up to her chest, the odd wings (http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a164/Cheyanime/Cheyanime%202/NueProfile.png) sprouting from her back drooping slightly as she does so.]

Mamizou... Anesan and Murasa and—and everyone at the temple, too.

[That's not something she ever thought she'd be saying, but...well. Here she is.]

[She sits up, though she doesn't shed her indolent air. She's seen a person with wings before, her "chicken", as she calls him, but not anything like that.]

So you live at the temple? [Fiorel has no idea what that is, but she doesn't admit it.] What's that like? [Maybe somebody'll have a story to entertain her with. Not that she usually needs much entertaining, but there's not much to do here.]

Mhm. The Myouren Temple. Anesan founded it. [The explanation comes without thinking—this woman doesn't look like the kind of person you'd find in the Human Village back home, so she elaborates automatically.]

[When she's asked what it's like to live there, she lets out a thoughtful-sounding hum, resting her chin on the tops of her knees.] It's not very exciting most of the time, but it's nice. Anesan and everyone took me in, even though—even though I probably would have deserved it if they turned me away. [Pause.] But recently there have been some people that look like they're might cause trouble for us. That's why I invited Mamizou to come live with us.

[Fiorel listens to all this, nodding, though it doesn't make complete sense to her, since temples don't exist where she's from. She is interested by what the girl says about being turned away.] Why'd you deserve a thing like that?

[Trouble, too, is relevant to her interests.] What if they do cause you trouble? Think you can handle it?

...I caused everyone a lot of problems, back when I thought they were siding with humans over youkai. [She drops her knees, now, and holds out a hand toward the mirror. Twined around her wrist and fingers is a small, pale green snake.] Anesan had been sealed away by humans, and I used this Seed of Unknown Form to scatter and hide something they needed to revive her.

[She sounds genuinely remorseful about this, but puffs up a little when she's asked the other question.] Of course we can handle it! Anesan is really strong, and I'm no slouch when it comes to danmaku myself. And even if we're not strong enough on our own, I brought in our trump card—Mamizou!

[Now this girl is making even less sense to her, but she only laughs softly.] We must be from real different places. Sounds like you just started speaking Unestablished at me. But you're confident. I like that. They must've had some reason to forgive you.

What are you, anyway? [She asks this curiously, without hostility. She doesn't have a problem with non-humans. She was more or less raised by one.] They don't make em like you where I'm from.

"Unestablished"? ...Well, I guess the details aren't really that important, anyway. You just have to know that I caused them a lot of trouble. Really, I think anesan is just too forgiving.

Huh? I'm a youkai, of course. [She doesn't specify what type for a lot of reason—but mostly because her claim to fame as a nue is being a mysterious monster with a strange, unknown appearance. Admitting that's what she is... Well, that would be sabotaging her own ability to be frightening, wouldn't it?]

Anything not Established. It's a language. [This talk of temples and Youkai and seeds is all Greek to Fiorel, as the English saying goes--not that she knows English either.] That so? Then she sounds like it. [Forgiveness isn't Fiorel's thing, in any case.]

Youkai, huh? Got no idea what that is.

You really don't know what youkai are? [Someone with no idea what a youkai is is a brand new concept to her! With that in mind, she decides she has to give her the best impression possible.] Well... I guess we're what most people would call "supernatural creatures." There are all sorts of us, so it's hard to be more specific than that.

"Supernatural creatures". [She nods, with a wry smile.] We've got plenty of those, even though we don't got any Youkai. All different kinds, too, but I only know one of em.

Some're better than others. So what kind of Youkai are you? Do anything special, other than scattering things?

[She avoided the word "monster" on purpose, but that's plenty accurate in many cases. When she's asked what kind of youkai she is, though, she just smiles.]

Hm, I wonder? If you want to know... It's a secret~.

[She laughs. She couldn't blame anyone for not being honest and open--it's not like she is.] Now you sound like somebody I know.

If you want to keep your mystery, guess there's nothing I can do about it. I'm just an ordinary human. [More or less. But mostly more.]

[Nue thinks Fiorel is pretty all right for a human. Then again, she's always pleasantly surprised when one doesn't want to see her exterminated or sealed away.]
