[Hi, Gardens. The girl that appears on the Vine today is an unusual one. For one thing, she seems to be clad in an outfit that wouldn't look out of place on a bargain bin fantasy RPG character. For another, her skin is...bright orange-red and slimy, like an amphibian's of some kind. Her face is rather broad and lizard-like, too... She seems friendly enough, though, smiling brightly at the screen before beginning to speak.]

You know, I've been thinking! Even beyond the obvious questions -- how were we brought here? how do we leave? -- these Gardens are pretty mysterious. Just think about it! Even the food chain is out of the ordinary. I mean, can anyone tell me what the animals in this place eat? Does someone have to remind the cats not to catch the songbirds? Do the wolves and foxes partake in the rabbits? Are there any mice around to feed the snakes? It's all so strange.

Or! For a question that's maybe a bit closer to home -- where does the meat in that big arena place come from? Besides the, ah, helpers, the only animals I've ever seen here are some birds and fish. That meat has to come from somewhere, doesn't it? I don't know, I'd much rather be aware of the origins of the food I'm eating. The Queen's regime needs to be more transparent!

[...It's hard to say whether or not that last line was intended to be serious. She grins broadly as she says it, but she grins broadly when she says just about anything.]

[ Speaking about the lovely topic of food, here's someone tuning in with a basket of apples on her lap. She's munching away at one as the mirror shows her, and she does have a bit of a mouth full when she talks. ]

You know, you'd think if you were having a hallucination you'd be too involved in it to wonder whether it was actually a hallucination or not. Dreams are like that, too. Once you realize you're dreaming, you wake up right away.

[if you're walking nearby, you might be greeted by a strange sight: a girl having a staredown with a cat. She's wearing a breastplate and bulky gauntlets and is eyeing the animal warily, her fists raised in a protective stance.]

[the cat, for its part, only seems mildly annoyed--it's trying to give her a scroll, and it can't get close. Eventually it gives up and sets its burden down, trotting off into the bushes with its tail raised huffily. The girl watches it go with a bewildered expression, then picks up the scroll. She unrolls it and studies it intensely...upside-down. It's probably a safe bet she doesn't know how to read.]

Even putting aside the very premise of being abducted into a magical garden filled only with women, this place is absurd.

[Anne is obviously irritated; for anyone that knows her, it's apparent that her usual collected, professional body language has been replaced by much more aggressive and haphazard gesticulating. And what is it that has brought her to this point?]

I assume most of you have seen the library. Is there truly nothing to be found there beyond poetry and fairytales? [And, of course, the more salacious material, but she has so little interest in that it's not even worth mentioning.] I have no need for either of these things. Would the availability of something closer to my tastes be so unreasonable?

[She scoffs.]

Utterly, utterly ridiculous.

[ Have an almost equally irritated Atris. The frown turning down the corners of her mouth is probably permanent by now. Stop being so disappointing, Gardens. ]

The selection leaves a great deal to be desired. It would be much improved with a few history texts.

[ If there was a history section she would probably never leave the library like a recluse. ]

[ The Gardens are flawless — almost too flawless, and that's what makes Shepard nervous. She's already changed back into her uniform, the black and white Cerberus tunic and pants, discarding the white dress she arrived in (Shepard hates dresses, just wearing one makes her skin itch). The place may look nonthreatening, but she's already wishing she had more of her weapons; all she has is her sidearm, lowered for now but still caught in a tense, ready grip as she makes her way up the path through a brace of trees, senses alert. She doesn't know who or what she might encounter, but she's prepared either way. ]

[There is a very confused looking gray-skinned alien lady huddled under a tree--or, well, she must be confused, but it's hard to tell since she's covering her face with both hands. Is she crying? No, because she lifts her face after a moment, squinting, and doesn't look upset so much as...utterly bewildered.]

[by what, you might ask? It's a perfectly nice spring day, after all. The birds are singing, not a cloud in the sky--wait, that's the problem. After living on a planet where the sun doesn't just scorch, it's completely merciless, normal sunlight is...strangely harmless. She seems pretty reluctant to leave the shade, however.]

[Under the garden's morning sun wanders a small girl wearing a thin, white, dress and what appears to be a bicycle helmet. As she stands gazing at the day star, she seems rather confused by the whole matter.]

It's real, if that's what you're wondering. [ A teenage girl, red save for her pale skin and white dress shirt, addresses the perplexed girl. She's sitting under a tree, notepad and pen in hand, scribbling away at something furiously.

One might wonder where she even bothered to look up to register the others' presence. ]

Though one could disern's the creature's size to be no bigger then any beast that call's the garden home, the manner in which is moves suggests a humanoid form. More telling then anything, however, is the rain of black feather falling from the darkened sky.]

I was tempted to bring back this muse, but you forced my hand!

*Shinku was sipping some tea by the window of her home, staring up at the night sky. When she see's the figure she sighs, knowing right away who it was.*

I see she was taken her as well.

[ Although there are some ways, just a few, in which Japan is not entirely out of her element, she's still doing a very good job of looking totally lost. Curious, but lost. Everything's so lovely, but there's so much of it to see and really she's been here awhile and hasn't progressed through very much of it at all. In fact, here she is, just standing in a small clearing, staring up at the trees. ]

[For one moment, France was not there. It was a very sad time.

Now France is there with her arm around Japan's shoulders. There was very little transition between the two moments.]

*Out in the middle of the gardens by the rose flowers walks a little girl. She is dressed in a red Gothic lolita outfit, with long blonde hair reaching her feet. She is sitting on a white chair and table, having some tea. The tea cup seems to be just the right size for her, even if the table and chair seems way too big.*

[Victoria, couldn't help but notice Shinku's miniature tea party. Being a collector of dolls, and as someone who considered herself to be a doll as well, she simply could not pass up the chance to take a closer look.]

This is no good, what kind of owner would leave such an beautiful doll sitting out in the open like this...

She is as silent as the cat, and her blank expression gives way to a tight seriousness.

It would appear that the girl is lost, and she is, and if one were not paying attention to the massive axe strapped on her back, they might think her helpless.

Eventually, she turns to the cat.]

I am unfamiliar with this area. [And the scroll is lifted.] There is no Queen in Tethe'alla...or Sylvarant.

[There is no response, but the cat turns and bounds off to an area covered in flowers and foilage.]

[After a moment, Presea follows.]

[ Hello there even smaller warrior girl, who despite that has way higher Str and Def. That lost look is familiar - especially when Florina has mirrors around, because she looks lost even when she knows exactly where she is - so she approaches the shorter girl. ]
